Port of Port Angeles is one of the Olympic Peninsula’s most powerful advocates for economic growth.  Through the Port’s efforts, hundreds of jobs worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in business earnings, wages and tax revenues are maintained and created yearly.

The specific economic impact of Port Angeles maritime and airport passenger, cargo and operations activity includes:

• Direct jobs, including longshoremen on the seaport and jobs with airlines and concessions at the airport.
• Indirect jobs created within the local economy as those directly employed in the air and maritime jobs spend their wages on local goods and services.

In accomplishing its goals, the Port often works as a partner with other public and private entities. The intent is to complement, rather than duplicate or compete with, the functions of general purpose governments or the private sector.
